Frequently Asked Questions

Ensemble IP provides a free, no obligation quote prior to each engagement. Upon receipt of the search request, we will review your invention disclosure (if patentability), product disclosure (if clearance), or patent number (if validity) and will prepare an estimate within one business day or less. Often we need to search the general technology prior to preparing the quote in order to scope the project size. However, you are not charged for any preparation time. This means that you will know exactly how much the project will cost in advance of your authorization.

Ensemble IP completes all projects within one week or less, unless the project takes more than 40 person-hours. We will meet any reasonable deadlines – even those that require a faster turnaround than one week. Ensemble IP does not charge rush fees.

With most engagements we review any materials that you share with us, and request a quick scoping discussion. At any stage in the project, we offer customers a free check-in whereby Ensemble IP shares the interim results. At that point, the search may be re-directed as necessary.

Ensemble IP searches full-text patent and non-patent literature in six major languages: English, Japanese, German, Chinese (Mandarin), Korean, and Russian. We will then deliver the results in either English or one of the other five languages at your direction.
